Thousands of Rohingyas fled from their places of origin in Myanmar. The Rohingya are a Muslim majority chose to die in a foreign country rather than persist in the Buddhist-majority country.
Apparently, a Buddhist monk to be the mastermind behind the hell to the Rohingya. Monk named Ashin Wirathu was spreading hatred into Myanmar society. He instilled fear someday minority Muslim groups will dominate the country formerly known as Burma.
Ten years ago, the public has never heard the name of the monk from Mandalay. Men born in 1968 it dropped out of school at the age of 14 years. After that, he decided to become a monk.
Ashin Wirathu name surfaced after he was involved in anti-Muslim extremist group "969" in 2001. Due to its action, in 2003 he was sentenced to 25 years in prison. However, in 2010 he has been freed along with other political prisoners.
After the Myanmar government loosened regulations, Ashin Wirathu more active voice in social media. Ashin spread the message through lectures footage uploaded on YouTube and Facebook. Until recently, he managed to capture approximately 37 thousand followers.
In 2012, when the bloodshed occurred between Rohingya and Buddhist Rakhine province, Ashin increasingly recognized by a speech full of anger.
Ashin Wirathu spread the teachings of hatred in every speech. He always targeting the Muslim community, he often discredit Rohingya. This is the man who led the demonstrations that urged the Rohingya people relocated to third countries.
Ashin also blame Muslims on the clashes. He kept repeating the absurd excuse about the high level of Muslim reproduction.
Buddhist monk claimed women were forced to convert. He led a campaign to urge the Government of Myanmar issued regulations prohibiting Buddhist women married to men of other faiths without government permission.
Ashin lead a group of people who dared to do violence to defend his views. Ashin strong influence causing everyone a different view would be targeted supporters.
